Erykah Badu strips at The "Grassy Knoll" for new Video

"I love the FREEDOM of Expression!"

Erykah Badu shed her clothes as she walked along a Dallas, Texas, sidewalk until she was nude and then fell near where President Kennedy was assassinated.

The result was a controversial video, released Saturday, for her song "Window Seat," which Badu said was "shot guerrilla style" with no crew and in one take March 17.

Children could be seen nearby as Badu stripped in Dealey Plaza, a popular tourist spot since Kennedy's 1963 assassination.

The singer's management did not immediately respond to request for comment, but Badu responded to the controversy via Twitter.

She tweeted that "there were children there. i prayed they wouldnt b traumatized."

Badu will not face indecent exposure charges for shedding her clothes on the Dallas, Texas, sidewalk, a Dallas Police spokeswoman said.

Although children were nearby, no one filed a complaint against Badu after the March 17 incident, Dallas Police Senior Cpl. Janice Crowther said.

"But if we had had a call and would have caught Ms. Badu in the act of walking down the street taking her clothes off, she would have been charge with a Class B misdemeanor," she said.

The R&B singer said she was making a statement against "groupthink," which she tweeted was an "unwritten rule" that "i will not express my true opinion if it opposes those i love and fear."

Some fans sent tweets praising Badu's artistic vision.

One fan tweeted to Badu on Sunday: "thank you, because your being brave, i no longer feel afraid to say what i really feel."

The video opens with a November 22, 1963, radio broadcast describing Kennedy's motorcade turning onto Elm Street seconds before fatal shots were fired.

In the video, Badu is behind the wheel of a 1965 Lincoln Continental, parked along Kennedy's route. A single camera focuses on her as she walks toward Elm Street and the book depository where Kennedy's assassin fired his rifle.

Badu tweeted that "i was petrified while shooting this video ... but liberation began to set in. i conquered many fears in that few moments."

She said she was "too busy lookin for cops" to be embarrassed by her nudity. "i been naked all along in my words actions and deeds. thats the real vulnerable place," she tweeted.

The video does not include shouts from people off camera, she said. "they were yelling, 'THIS IS A PUBLIC PLACE : YOU OUGHTA BE ASHAMED : PUT YOUR CLOTHES ON : DAMN GIRL! etc," Badu tweeted.

More than a dozen people stood along the plaza's "grassy knoll" when Badu took off the last piece of clothing.

"the people caught in the shot were trying hard to ignore me," she tweeted.

As she reached the spot where Kennedy was first struck by a bullet, the crackle of a gunshot is heard and Badu's head snaps back and she falls to the ground as if dead.

Badu said when the camera stopped "we ran."

The singer was born in Dallas, where she is raising her three children -- ages 1, 5 and 12

She tweeted to fans about her 5-year-old daughter's response when told of her plans for the video: "she looked at me with a blank face and replied ok mama can i have another pudding?"

The video was released days before the singer's next album, "New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh," hits record stores. The single "Window Seat" is at No. 28 on Billboard's R&B/hip-hop chart. (CNN)

"Fuck The critics" I understand where she is coming from & what see is expressing! More artists need to truly express themselves & not let a "pay check" pimp their careers....

Jamie Foxx To Team With Affion Crockett For Sketch Comedy Show

Oscar award winner Jamie Foxx has been tapped by Fox Networks to create a new urban inspired sketch- comedy show.

According to reports, the untitled project will star Affion Crockett and will be executively produced by Foxx and two of his fellow "Color" writers, "MadTV" creators Fax Bahr and Adam Small.

The show idea is actually the result of merging two projects. Foxx wanted to do a sketch-comedy series with an urban twist and paired with Bahr and Small to pitch the idea to Fox.

Separately, Sony TV-based Tantamount was working on a sketch-comedy project starring Crockett, probably best known for his spoofs of Russell Simmons, Kanye West, Chris Brown, Drake and Jay-Z.

Crockett also was attached to co-write with Carl Jones, a producer on Sony's animated comedy "The Boondocks," on which Jones voiced characters alongside Crockett and also served as a producer.

After hearing both pitches, Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly proposed marrying the projects.

The combination landed at FtvS, with Foxx executive producing alongside Small, Bahr, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum as well as Marcus King and Jaime Rucker King, Foxx's managers and producing partners at Foxx King Entertainment.

Foxx, who co-created, produced and top lined "The Jamie Foxx Show," had another sketch-comedy show with Bahr and Small in development last year at MTV.

Small and Bahr's series credits also include "Chocolate News" and "Blue Collar TV."

Remembering A Legend: Eric "Eazy-E" Wright

The game of Hip-Hop has definitely changed over the last 15 years, but one thing is for certain on this day (March 26) in 1995 we lost a real pioneer.

Eric “Eazy-E” Wright was more than a gangster, he along with his N.W.A. counterparts helped birth a movement that established not only a coast in the game, but redefined Hip-Hop as we knew it.

In a time where originality was the key to success, N.W.A exploded on the game giving people everywhere a glimpse of what it was like growing up in Compton, California.

R.I.P. Eazy-E… Mourn You Till We Join You

No stranger to controversy, Eazy-E took the message one step further being the first rapper to talk about selling drugs and the adverse effects on wax, with his 1987 hit “Dopeman.”

After N.W.A split, Eazy-E continued with his entrepreneurial spirit, helping launch the careers of Bone Thugs and Harmony as well as Black Eyed Peas (who were then known as Atban Clan).

Despite the significant contribution within the industry, Eazy-E also contributed to the community as well when he became the public face of AIDS awareness.

Before succumbing to the disease, Eazy-E raised awareness that HIV/AIDS was not just for homosexuals, but it could affect your mother, sister, brother or father and our homeboy.

N.C. School Board Votes In Favor Of Resegregation

A school board in Raleigh, North Carolina is causing uproar after angry residents say that officials are trying to bring back segregation in schools.

The controversy comes as the Wake County school board reached a 5-4 decision Tuesday to reverse a busing policy aimed at bringing diversity to local schools.

Instead of busing students from across county lines, the buses will now concentrate on areas closer to the schools, areas that are predominantly white.

With the new “community school zone” program, opposition to the idea says that the lack of diversity will cause more schools to be filled with students of lower socioeconomic backgrounds that tend to be Black or Hispanic.

Protestors were heard outside of school board meetings chanting “Hey ho, hey ho, resegregation has got to go.”

State NAACP Chief William Barber was quoted saying that the school board has “racist attitudes” after the chairman of the board referred to people against the ruling as “animals of the cage.”

Speaking further with the Associated Press, Barber says that the implication to desegregate the schools is wrong morally, legally and economically.

"It's morally wrong. It's legally wrong. It's economically wrong. Your press to go backward will only serve to intensify our moral, political and legal fight to go forward. We will never go back."

The busing policy has been in effect for three decades.
SMH…if it's not racism then what was the point of reversing a busing policy that's been working for 30 years?

Kanye West: Bringing Back Real Hip-Hop With New Album

Kanye West's new album will make you confused rap n---- go back and listen to BEAT TAPES you've ignored," tweeted DJ Scratch last weekend. "Trust me."

Such a bold statement can only serve to make fans build their anticipation for the next move from rapper Kanye West.

With West fading into obscurity ever since his incident with Taylor Swift, there has been word from everywhere that the rapper has been steadily regrouping and preparing himself for his fifth studio album, Good A** Job.

As sources have stated that the Chicago native is heavily recording in Hawaii, there has been assurance that it will mark the return of West back to real rap and embracing his Hip-Hop principles.

And for those that were curious, there is word that there will be no Auto-Tune this time around as the phase of 808s & Heartbreak has come and gone, and the rapper is looking to bring things back to his core foundation.

In terms of sound, the rapper/producer will be enlisting the talents of legends behind the boards which can only result in that vintage sound.

"Talked to s'one who's heard Kanye's next album," tweeted Toure yesterday. "Says it's awesome, it's 'real hip-hop.' Outside producers include Pete Rock, Q-Tip, RZA."

With such an arsenal in the corner of the rapper, all West might have to do is just rap having such big names backing him up, which most other artists could only imagine as simply a wish list.

Still without an official release date for Good A** Job, or even any word of a potential single to look forward to, West is clearly looking to keep his upcoming project under wraps until the curtain raises and it's time to start the show.

House Leader Decries Threats to Democrats Over Health Bill

Wow Democrats & Republicans at "War" after Signage of the Health Cafe Bill...We voted for these Congressional Folks & now they are showing their true colors.....They acting like gangstas, sending threats, & more.....OBAMA & Co stirring things up, GOOD! We need a change...positive change

President Obama Signs Health Care Reform Bill

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer voiced concern today over warnings of violent reprisals against members of Congress who voted for landmark health care legislation, saying the threats are being taken "very seriously."

"The bottom line is, we need to be very careful in public life that our rhetoric doesn't incite to violent acts," the Maryland Democrat said on a network morning news show. He said dealing with difficult issues in a civil and peaceful manner is "at the core of our democracy."

The FBI is working with lawmakers subjected to menacing obscenity-laced phone messages. In some instances, bricks were hurled through congressional offices, including Rep. Louise Slaughter's district headquarters in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

At least four Democratic offices in New York, Arizona and Kansas were struck and at least 10 members of Congress have reported some sort of threats, congressional leaders have said. No arrests had been made as of late Wednesday, but the FBI is still investigating.

Hoyer had said Wednesday that lawmakers who felt at risk were to get attention "from the proper authorities." He declined to say whether any were receiving extra security. Normally only those in leadership positions have personal security guards.

Slaughter, a Democrat, is chairwoman of an influential House committee. She said someone had left her a voice mail that used the word "snipers."

Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., said "it's an effort to kind of hijack the debate by coercive elements. I'm glad the Republican leadership colleagues denounce it. But they were very late to do that."

Hoyer today did not single out any member of Congress or political party as having made statements that could encourage such acts. But he did say he thought some of the rhetoric "has been far beyond legitimate debate."

"In our democracy," he said, "we resolve things, not through violence, not at the point of a gun. If we don't do that, we will devolve into a society that we're not going to like."

"It is unacceptable in America," said Sen. John McCain. The Arizona Republican said angry citizens should channel their rage into voter registration for the next election and efforts to repeal the health care law.

House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio said in a statement that while many Americans are angry over the bill's passage, "violence and threats are unacceptable."

Some of the anger spilled over in a flood of threat-filled phone and fax messages to the office of Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich. Stupak vowed to oppose the health care package unless given greater assurance that it would not allow federal funding of elective abortions. He voted in favor after the administration agreed.

Stupak's office released some of the messages, declining further comment.

"I hope you bleed ... (get) cancer and die," one male caller told the congressman between curses.

A fax with the title "Defecating on Stupak" carried a picture of a gallows with "Bart (SS) Stupak" on it and a noose attached. It was captioned, "All Baby Killers come to unseemly ends Either by the hand of man or by the hand of God."

The vandalism and threats surprised a researcher at a think tank that monitors extremist groups.

"I think it is astounding that we are seeing this wave of vigilantism," said Mark Potok of the Alabama-based Southern Poverty Law Center.

Hoyer said earlier that people have yelled that Democratic lawmakers should be put on firing lines and posters have appeared with the faces of lawmakers in the crosshairs of a target.

While not directly criticizing Republicans directly, he said "any show of appreciation for such actions encourages such action."

Gun imagery was used in a posting on the Facebook page of Sarah Palin urging people to organize against 20 House Democrats who voted for the health care bill and whose districts went for the John McCain-Palin ticket two years ago. Palin's post featured a U.S. map with circles and crosshairs over the 20 districts.

McCain defended Palin today, saying it was commonplace practice and "part of the lexicon" to refer to "targeted" congressional districts.

In Virginia, someone cut a propane line leading to a grill at the Charlottesville home of U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello's brother after the address was posted online by activists angry about the health care overhaul. Perriello also said a threatening letter was sent to his brother's house. The FBI and local authorities were investigating.

Tea party activists had posted the brother's address online thinking it was the congressman's home. The post urged opponents to drop by and "express their thanks" for the Democrat's vote in favor of the sweeping health care reform.

Nigel Coleman, chairman of the Danville tea party, said he re-posted the comment that originated on another conservative blog, including the address, Monday on his Facebook page. The posts were taken down after the mistake was discovered.

"We've never been associated with any violence or any vandalism," he said. "We're definitely sorry that we posted the incorrect address."

Tiny & Toya Speak On Their Relationships With T.I. And Lil Wayne

"I learned a lot. I watched Wayne go into different phases. Each phase I learned something new. As far as his love for women; he's not really a one woman man..."- Toya

BET reality TV stars and the ladies linked to the some of the biggest names in rap are back speaking on the high profile relationships.

Tiny and Toya are gearing up for the second season of their reality show and in between, dishing out more details on their current and former flames.

While Tiny's been reunited with her beaux T.I. since his early release from prison, her best friend Toya is dealing with the incarceration of her ex-husband Lil Wayne.

Speaking in an interview with Honey Magazine, T.I.'s fiance and mother of two of his children says it's important to keep a relationship fresh. She tells Honey that the way a relationship starts out should be maintained throughout.

"One thing I always say for a relationship is that however you start is how you should finish. I hate for a man to start a relationship and things seem so nice and then it gets old and he stops doing all those things. If those are the things that made me fall in love with him, then he needs to do those things periodically in the relationship or the relationship will go stale. I think that really helps you feel wanted when it's old."

Speaking on her former relationship with Lil Wayne, Toya says she realized Dwayne Carter wasn't a “one woman man” but says she learned valuable lessons from him and let go of her grudges.

"I learned a lot. I watched Wayne go into different phases. Each phase I learned something new. As far as his love for women; he's not really a one woman man. I had to deal with that. I am kind of happy because he made me stronger. No BS. I learned a lot from being Lil' Wayne's wife. As long as I've held grudges I've learned to let it go."

She also says that now that he's in jail she's not used to not having access to him. Describing their relationship as “great”, Toya says that she's always been able to pick up the phone to talk to him, but now calls between herself, her daughter and Wayne are much more restricted.

"No one wants to see anyone in jail, especially their kids' father and husband. Wayne and I have a great relationship. That's just not anywhere that I want to see him. He's never not been accessible. As long as we've been talking or dating I've never not been able to pick up the phone and call him no matter what is going on in my life. Now he's licked up and it's not like that anymore. As far as my daughter, her and her father have a great relationship. She talks to him every day after school. She can still talk to him but now it's on a schedule with calls. It's going to be a change for these 8 months."

By contrast, Tiny says that she gets to go home with her confirmed husband-to-be after he puts in work in the studio. As previously reported, T.I. will be officially free from the binds of the government Friday, March 26 when the remainder of the prison sentence he was serving outside of jail is complete.

"In the daytime he's working a lot in the studio, and most of my time is spent staying where he is and then we come home together."

The ladies also say that the second season of their reality show is set to premiere on April 13.

Check out Tiny and Toya's full interview with Honey here.

Protest Against Akon Concert Erupts Into Violence

Apparently, there is select group of people that aren't all too fond of Akon as outraged protesters gathered to rally against a concert from the singer on Monday.

With the troops meeting at a Sri Lankan private broadcaster's headquarters, the group proceeded to pelt the building which resulted in damage.

Under accusations that Akon desecrated an image of Buddha after creating the music video for “Sexy Chick”, the protesters stated that half-naked women paraded around during a pool party with the statue present.

The ethnic majority that resides within Sri Lanka, are mainly Buddhist.

Along with trying to bring destruction to the facility, the protest also resulted in casualties as our workers were injured due to the melee. Fortunately, there are reports that the injuries suffered might not be serious.

Police spokesman Prishantha Jayakody stated that many of the protesters that were responsible behind the attack have been taken into custody, according to the Associated Press.

The Maharaja Organization, who was sponsoring the concert and was attacked, has been attacked before. On another occasion, men armed with hand grenades and guns made an advance on the building the year prior.

Howard Stern Attacks "Precious" Star's Weight

Howard Stern was blazingly cruel in his recent tirade against "Precious" star and Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe. "There's the most enormous, fat black chick I've ever seen," said Stern. "She is enormous. Everyone's pretending she's a part of show business and she's never going to be in another movie."

Sidibe is, without a doubt, a wildly gifted talent. And to anyone who saw her working it on the red carpet Sunday night, clearly comfortable in her own skin. But in calling Gabourey out on her size -- however scathing -- Stern may have actually done something positive.

The young actress is clearly carrying an unhealthy amount of weight, and by making her the target of his tirade, Stern opened up the floodgates to a subject that desperately needs to be addressed more openly in America. We can no longer afford to be politically correct or afraid of hurt feelings when it comes to talking about obesity. Our country is in the midst of a grave obesity epidemic that is compromising our lives. Americans are fatter than ever, with approximately 127 million overweight and 69 million obese adults in the country. Being obese raises the risk of cancer (with over 75 percent of cases reported to be directly attributed to obesity), cardiovascular disease, heart disorders, stroke, infertility and hypertension.

The fat crisis isn't only hurting us physically, it's hurting us financially. Obesity related health care is costing us $117 billion each year.

Stern made a point during his critique of Sibide when he said, "You just want to say to her, listen, honey, now that you've got a little money in the bank go get yourself thin, because you're going to die in three years." Stern is implying that money buys good health, since people who have the means to purchase more nutritious and fresh food, educate themselves on fitness, nutrition and health, and have safe places to exercise, will undoubtedly find it easier to combat overweight and obesity. But these options are not available to every American. Where Stern is wrong, however, is that she shouldn't feel the need to buy herself a thin frame. Sibide, along with millions of men and women, needs to get back years of her life that are being robbed by obesity.

Researchers have been studying overweight and obesity as it relates to factors such as education, income level, location and ethnicity, and have found all of these factors weigh on an individuals risk for obesity.

And while economic and genetic factors do play a role, at the end of the day it's individual lifestyle choices that have the biggest impact on the scale. Making a concerted effort to eat healthier, whole foods, prioritizing exercise and incorporating cooking in your daily life are imperative. After all, only you have control over what and how much goes in your mouth and how often you want your body to be active each day. Often obese individuals have other factors at play, including hormone imbalances and sometimes depression, but by understanding the underlying factors and addressing them, most people can gain their health back even with limited means.

Even though Howard Stern was by no means thoughtful or kind when he spoke of Sidibe, she is indeed dangerously overweight. Stern's radio show might not have been the polite venue to bring up such a sensitive topic, but we can only hope that those close to her are also concerned about her health and have spoken out in a more private setting.

Now that Stern's cruel comments have hit the airwaves, we will have to wait and see if she will embrace her stardom as a chance to get her weight in check. I'm also hoping that with her new found fame, she can also address some of these complex issues surrounding why so many people and minorities in particular are battling overweight and obesity and perhaps become a role model for much needed change in America today.

As rude and insensitive as it is to point out someone's weight in public, many That's Fit Success Stories say that comments about their weight was the turning point to get healthy.

Nicki Minaj Explains Concept of “Massive Attack” Video, Behind The Scenes Photos Released

Nicki Minaj is continuing her “Massive Attack” on the rap world and prepping for the release of her first solo video.

Young Money's Harajuku Barbie is prepping for the release of her first video preluding to the release of her first album.

Taking to the desert in Lancaster, California Nicki's bringing along Amber Rose and super producer/ songwriter Sean Garrett for her visual assault.

Speaking on the concept of the “Massive Attack” video, Nicki tells MTV that she had to bring her best friend Amber along for the ride and describes a car chase scene in the Hype Williams directed project.

"I brought my BFF Amber Rose out here. This is a massive attack! We shot the helicopter scene. Obviously, I had to have a hot-pink Lamborghini. We're having fun in the car, and we see a freakin' helicopter chase us. So we get on the walkie-talkie, like, 'Mayday! Mayday!' It's really fashion and beauty shots, and we're acting like we're doing something important."

She also tells MTV that she didn't want to do a typical video like other new artists and was excited that Birdman and Slim stuck by her vision after a chance meeting with Hype Williams in the airport.

"I didn't want to shoot the typical new-artist vision. Thank God I have a wonderful label that stands behind me and my vision. I met Hype in a freakin' airport…..We exchanged information, and it happened to be a week before I wanted to shoot a video. I told him the idea. Of course, I had to let Baby and Slim know and hope they would understand my expensive taste. It all came together. Sean Garrett is on the hook.”

Behind the scenes footage of her first visual were recently released to the internet. Check out pictures of Nicki, Amber and the pink wig clan of Barbies below

Murderer Of Malcolm X To Be Released

The man who killed El Hajj Malik El Shabazz a.k.a. Malcolm X in cold blood, is set to be released from jail.

Thomas Hagan is the only man to admit to assassinating the leader and was found guilty of murder for his shooting death on February 21, 1965 on the stage of the Audubon Ballroom.

The convicted killer was granted parole on March 3rd and is now scheduled to be released on April 28th.

Before being granted parole, he was allowed to spend 12 hours a week in a work release program and allowed to spend time at home with his wife and kids.

X was speaking to a crowd of his followers when he was gunned down by Hagan, Norman 3X Butler and Thomas 15X Johnson.

Hagan was shot in the leg by one of X’s bodyguards and almost beaten to death by the crowd.

Maxx B Wins Appeal, May Be Out Sooner Than Expected

It looks like Maxx B may have another chance at freedom after previously receiving 75 years for his role in an alleged robbery gone bad that resulted in murder.

Max B's manager Joli O'Shay told XXL Magazine that the former Jim Jones associate was recently granted an appeal in his murder case and is waiting for his actual appeal date. O'Shay stated,

“He's gonna try hopefully to go back to trial, or get it a mistrial or get it time served, whatever we can do.”

As previously reported, the conviction and sentence comes from his role in a botched robbery that resulted in a felony murder at a hotel in New Jersey. Max B, along with Kevin Leerdam were convicted on charges of felony murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.

Young Jeezy Changes Rap Name

It must be the routine for rappers to go through a name change when they get to a particular point in their career.

Bow Wow dropped the “Lil” , Killer Mike became "Mike Bigga", Game dropped “The” and Diddy has changed his name as often as people change their drawers throughout the week.

Maybe instead of dropping names, folks should be dropping albums and mixtapes before they get dropped by their respective labels.

The latest rapper to do a little spring cleaning and do away with the old is Young Jeezy as he is looking to change his rap alias.

Once known to the world as Young Jeezy, now Hip-Hop is best to refer to him as simply being Jeezy, as he is stripping away the “Young”.

It is boggling how rappers believe that stuff like this is really important, but since it makes the news, it must have some type of interest to someone, somewhere.

To whoever is concerned, the name was first changed on the credits to Rihanna's single “Hard” and it became official after the release of his street single “Lose My Mind” from Thug Motivation 103 on the promotional cover art for the track.

Well, now that he's shed some pounds and lost the burden of “Young”, hopefully the music will start flowing and the fans will be blessed to the DJ Drama assisted mixtape sequel, Trap Or Die 2.

An inmate in a Tennessee prison is seeing dollar signs after a winning a settlement against a prison guard who ripped out his gold teeth causing him permanent injuries.

Anthony McCoy was brought to the Davidson County jail in Tennessee for failure to pay child support.

While serving his time Lieutenant Tanya Mayhew asked him to take out the gold teeth in his mouth.

When McCoy told the woman that he couldn't because they were permanent, she reached into his mouth and removed them by hand for him.

David Raybin, the attorney for McCoy says his client was,

“Spitting out teeth and blood in a trash can then told to get back in line.”

Raybin also says that the enamel was ripped from four of Anthony's teeth and he was only given Tylenol for medical treatment until 10 days later when a dentist was called.

McCoy needed $10,000 in dental work for his mangled mouth and the lieutenant was demoted and suspended for five days because of the incident.

The state of Tennessee will pay McCoy $95,000 in damages.

Wacka Flocka Flame Arrested For Parole Violation

Wacka Flocka is surely building up his street credibility since 2010 started.

Being a victim to two gunshot wounds during a botched robbery in January and then getting himself involved in physical confrontation against Young Jeezy's CTE camp, the young rapper, legally Juaquin James Malphurs, is surely hitting many bumps in the road as his career is developing.

Now, it has been reported that Flame was arrested Tuesday for violating his probation. According to the Macon-Telegraph, the member of So Icey Entertainment is now being held within the confines of the Houston County Jail, but there is no word as to the nature of the violation.

Flame, however, had received probation previously after being arrested for possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

Wacka is surely finding a unique way to keep his name out there while Gucci Mane is away. How about making another single for promotion? The money would surely outweigh the bullets and the black eyes. Just a suggestion though.

Mike Tyson Meets Reality TV

Since stunning the boxing world in 2005 with his retirement announcement, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has re-branded himself to help rehabilitate his tainted image.

Within the last year the Brooklyn, New York native has made appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show to talk candidly about his troubled past, which included domestic/drug abuse. The boxing legend showcased a more livid and detailed account of his career in the James Toback documentary, 'Tyson.' The award-winning film wasn't the last time fans would see him on the silver screen, he also demonstrated his sense of humor in the hit comedy comedy, 'The Hangover.'

As if seeing "Iron Mike" crooning to Phil Collins' classic 'In the Air Tonight' wasn't amusing enough, Tyson's next venture may portray the former heavyweight as a lightweight.

The Associated Press reports Tyson will star in his very own reality show, 'Taking on Tyson,' on Animal Planet to participate in one of his favorite past times, pigeon racing. If you're a bit taken back by the announcement, no need to fret, you're not alone.

According to the channel's Media President, Marjorie Kaplan, "Tyson's passion for his pigeons takes my breath away."

Interesting

'Taking on Tyson' will bring viewers into an "intensely competitive and bizarrely fascinating world" in which has intrigued Tyson dating back to his humble beginnings in New York (where he used to raise pigeons on rooftops).

The network added that a team of pigeon experts will help assist Tyson as he trains and races them. 'Taking on Tyson' is scheduled to tape this spring in New York City with plans to air early next year.

Gays Not Allowed At The Prom?

The American Civil Liberties Union is pushing for a quick legal decision, hoping to save a high school prom that was allegedly canceled because two lesbians wanted to attend it together.

The rights group filed a motion for a preliminary injunction against a Mississippi school district and high school in federal court Tuesday over the April 2 prom.

The case will be argued before a federal judge in Mississippi on March 22, the ACLU said.

The showdown stems from a complaint by 18-year-old Constance McMillen, who said she was told not to bring her girlfriend to the prom or wear a tuxedo.

The prom was canceled after the ACLU demanded that McMillen's high school change its policy.

"I never thought the school would try to cancel the prom and hurt everyone just to keep me and my girlfriend from going together," McMillen said in an ACLU news release. "A lot of people have made really generous offers to pay for a prom somewhere else, which I really appreciate. But all I've ever wanted was to be able to just go to my own school's prom with my girlfriend."

The motion filed Tuesday is part of a lawsuit that the ACLU has filed against the Itawamba County School District and Itawamba Agricultural High School.

At the center of the lawsuit is a memorandum from the school to students, dated February 5, which says that prom dates must be of the opposite sex.

Also, when McMillen expressed a desire to wear a tuxedo to the prom, the district superintendent told her only male students were allowed to wear them, according to court documents.

Superintendent Teresa McNeece also told McMillen that she and her girlfriend could be ejected from the prom if other students complained about their presence, according to the documents.

School district officials could not be reached for comment. But the county's board of education said in a statement last week that "Due to the distractions to the educational process caused by recent events, the Itawamba County School District has decided to not host a prom at Itawamba Agricultural High School this year."

The ACLU aims to change that.

"We are determined to get the prom back on the calendar and open to all students," said ACLU lawyer Christine Sun. "What this case comes down to is the school taking the extraordinary measure of canceling the prom, rather than live up to its legal obligation to fairly treat all students who want to come to it."

Chicago Clergy Calls For Ban On Blunts

A Bishop in Chicago and other anti-drug supporters are calling for a ban on “blunt wraps”, a type of tobacco leaf paper often used to roll marijuana.

Bishop Larry Trotter, the head of Sweet Holy Spirit Church, brought examples of the blunt wraps to church Sunday and spoke against them saying,

“We need to stop people from bringing things and making them available to our children and making them drug addicts….Having this product in mainstream stores is like having drug pushers in our neighborhoods. Blunt wraps are an indefensible product marketed to children and entirely identified with illegal drug use."

Trotter plans to circulate a petition to pass on to politicians in hopes of getting an anti-blunt law in place.

Until then he's calling for local convenience stores to stop the sales of the illegitimately used products.
Ehhh….an anti-blunt law?

Too much or just enough?

B.G. Signs Back With Cash Money Records *Video*

With the addition of Cory Gunz to the stable, it has been reported that rapper B.G. has returned home and signed back with Cash Money Records.

Although money troubles in the past caused a rift in the business and personal relationship between the rapper and Birdman, it looks like the time away has allowed B.G. to get his business mentality up to par to ensure that what happened to him before won’t happen again.

It feels like the Hot Boyz reunion is coming a lot closer as days progress.

Already building his relationship back with Mannie Fresh, Juvenile and Lil Wayne, the vintage Cash Money army is starting to make their return.

Speaking with HipHopWired, B.G. spoke on becoming a free agent after the release of Too Hood 2 Be Hollywood and what it would take to be back with Cash Money and Birdman.

“If the numbers right, if it makes sense .”

He also spoke on how Baby attempted to help B.G. be released from Atlantic Records.

“E1 called Atlantic and asked them what they doing with me. What’s the hold up on B.G’s album? He offered them a deal, baby offered them a deal to and they turned him down. I guess, they don’t want to see me win or not. Everything worked out perfect, it couldn’t be better.”

Similar to the possibility of L.O.X. doing business with Diddy again, let’s hope that B.G. has smartened up since then and won’t make the same mistake.

Check a video below of B.G. when he had his initial issues with Birdman’s “shady” business.

General Larry Platt Sued Over “Pants On The Ground”

General Larry Platt, the American Idol contestant who received national attention for his song “Pants On The Ground”, is now facing backlash for his hit anthem.

General Platt recently recorded an official version of his homegrown theme song with the assistance of “This Is Why I'm Hot” rapper Mims.

According to distribution company American King Music, they funded the studio sessions and General Platt owes them money for “expenses related to producing, writing and recording of Mr. Platt's official recording of the single.”

Attorney Leron Rogers of Hewitt & Rogers released a statement on behalf of the distribution company saying,

“My client, American King Music, who funded Mr. Platt's recording session with Mims, would like to compensate Mr. Platt for the sales of the full-length hit song ‘Pants on the Ground' which we made available on iTunes. However, Mr. Platt and his representatives have failed to take care of Mr. Platt's obligations.”

As previously reported this is not the first time General Platt has faced controversy over his song.

“The Green Brothers” cried foul over the success of his song because it was too close to their musically inclined tune “Backpockets On The Floor.”

They have yet to take legal action against the General.

ATL Housewife Kim Zolciak Says "Ni**er" on Kandi Burress UStream Show [Video]

We all know that the Real Housewives is always full of drama, but the favorite white girl Kim Zolciak has always got a pass.

Well, I think she took her a pass a little too far when she said the word “N*g*er” twice on Kandi's UStream show, “Kandi Koated Nights.”

“Kandi Koated Nights” is a show which Kandi and her crew, Nikki Nicole, Corey and Neeq, all read viewers emails and discuss topics promoting safe sex and ranging from cucumber dildos to exploring different ways to please your man/woman in a relationship.

The show normally has a pretty light hearted undertone with a lot of clowning and jokes.

[Peep the video and more as Kim crosses the line] [More]

Wednesday (March 10) Kandi featured Bravo family members Kim Vo (“Shear Genius”) and fellow Atlanta Housewife Kim Zolciak, towards the end of the show while describing her favorite NWA moment, Kim Z. states”

“Yeah, I remember listening to NWA back in the day, one of my favorite songs was the one where he talks about the girl p&@*y poppin. Ya'll know NWA, Niggers With Attitudes, it was 15 years ago but we still love it.”

Noticeably the crew was a little taken a back as Kandi pulled Kim to the side (out of camera shot) to discuss the incident. After discussing it with Kim Z, Kandi returns on camera and states:

“I know everyone was a little shocked by Kim saying the real word for N in N.W.A., but this is real TV, anyway it was crazy. We had a fun night and we hope to see you guys back.”

It seems like when it rains it pours. I don't know about you guys but there must be an epidemic where the Caucasian race is getting bit by the racist bug. First John Mayer, then Twilight Star Robert Pattison and now Kim Zolciak?!

Normally I don't condone violence, but someone needs to slap the wig off of Kim's head. On a previous reunion show, Kim explained to co-star NeNe Leakes that she was not a racist, now in no way am I calling Kim racist, but at some point you have to draw the line.

But enough of what I think, check out the video (peep the 1:40-1:45 mark) and let me know what you think, was it a big deal or was she excused?

To all the people we gave a pass that turned around and slapped us in the face, BOW!

Kelly Ripa Gets Low For Luda; Ludacris And Jamie Foxx Headline HIV/AIDS Campaign [Video]

Platinum recording artists and critically acclaimed actors Ludacris and Jamie Foxx are stepping up to combat the growing HIV/AIDs problem in the Black community.

The pair has teamed up with the Center For Disease Control for their “I Know" campaign, an effort that uses Facebook, Twitter, a new Web site, and text messages to break down barriers of silence on the disease.

Luda is starring in video messages about the problem while Jamie will make radio and video PSAs encouraging youth to get tested and break their silence.

CDC representative Robert Bailey gave HipHopWired a statement on “I Know” saying,

“The “I Know” effort is our new social media effort we're using to spark conversation about HIV among African American young adults. We're trying to encourage young African Americans age 18-24 to talk openly and often about HIV online and offline. Wherever you live, work, play, worship, learn, we're hoping that “I Know” will allow these youth to connect where they talk and normally share information and take action. African American users are among the fastest growing groups in social media."

The head of national partnerships in the CDC's Division of HIV/AIDS prevention also says that The Ludacris Foundation is notorious for their work with the organization and that Jamie was eager to join in after hearing the statistics.

"We've been working with the Ludacris Foundation for a few years now. With Jamie he had a number of reasons for getting involved. For one, he has a young daughter and after hearing about the statistics he said that this was something he'd like to get involved in. This was an opportunity for us to be highly visible in engaging and using their voices to put the message out. Both of them have been engaged and concerned about the issue. “

For more information on the “I Know Campaign” and to see Ludacris and Jamie's PSAs visit www.actagainstaids.org.

In between speaking on this serious subject matter with Jamie Foxx and the CDC, Ludacris still manages time to have some fun.
The highest-selling Southern hip-hop solo artist of all time made a recent appearance on “Live With Regis and Kelly” and performed his hit single “How Low.”

Co-host Kelly Ripa was in rare form and got down for Luda showing him just how low she could really go.
